Field Binoculars - Jumelles

An antique pair of French marine or field binoculars (jumelles) with all-metal brass barrels part-lacquered black and part-bright. Worn to a handsome patina, the black lacquer rubbed back to bright brass through handling.

A decorative piece of antique optical instrument that displays beautifully on a shelf, desk or stack of books, or grouped in a cabinet of curiosities.

Condition: Honest condition consistent with age — expect lacquer loss and wear to bright brass, surface marks, dust and haze within the optics, and general wear.
