Rare set of 33 Large Antique Architectural Prints — “Cours Progressif d’Ornements” by Louis Allard — Chromolithograph Plates of Classical Ornament, Columns, Capitals, Friezes & Gothic Details (c. 1880–1900)
An exceptional set of 33 large-format antique architectural prints from the renowned Cours Progressif d’Ornements by Louis Allard, published in Paris between 1880 and 1900. These richly detailed chromolithograph plates were used as teaching materials in architecture schools and ateliers, illustrating the principles of classical and Gothic ornament with precision and depth.
The series originally contained 36 plates; this set includes 33 plates, each numbered and titled. They feature:
• Corinthian, Ionic & Composite capitals
• Acanthus foliage studies
• Gothic tracery, moldings & vault ornaments
• Roman friezes & entablatures
• Rosettes, volutes, modillions, consoles
• Progressive shading & construction techniques
• Detailed examples drawn from antique monuments
Printed with luxurious sepia and stone-colored tones, these plates have a sculptural quality and make stunning wall art when framed.  *Orientation between landscape and portrait vary.
Condition varies across the set: some plates are better well-preserved, while others show edge wear, foxing, or water marks typical of 19th-century atelier use. All retain excellent detail and vintage authenticity.
