Carved from solid wood with remnants of old polychrome, the soft green-grey paint sitting over a red-brown ground (bole) exactly as period architectural and religious carving was finished. The reverse shows hand-tool marks, old mortise and peg holes, and a forged nail — the construction of genuine antique work.
