19th Century French Chinoiserie Mirror with Bamboo Frame

This 19th-century French mirror is framed in a carved wood design imitating bamboo, a popular style of the period. The reverse of the glass features a paper chinoiserie scene with figures, cranes, and foliage in vivid blue against a golden ground. The mirrored surface has aged with areas of silvering loss, giving it a textured and atmospheric quality that reflects its long history. The mirror can be hung with the original chain.  Originally decorative wall art, it remains a striking piece with strong visual character.
