Glazed Terracotta Amphora with Green Splash 

An antique Italian glazed terracotta amphora from Southern Italy, likely Abruzzo or Puglia. Two loop handles at the shoulder and a wide mouth. The upper body is glazed in ochre-yellow with a splash of copper-green; the lower half is left unglazed in the traditional way, as only the upper portion needed sealing. Wheel-thrown in buff clay. Works grouped with other vessels, on a shelf, or holding dried stems.
