This pair of antique French wire feeders was traditionally used in rural barns for feeding cows and livestock. Each basket is hand-formed from twisted iron wire and suspended from sturdy chains, designed to hang against a wall or beam. The craftsmanship reveals practical ingenuity, with its geometric openwork pattern allowing ventilation and drainage. Today, these utilitarian objects have become highly decorative, perfect for repurposing as hanging planters or sculptural accents in rustic, farmhouse, or wabi-sabi interiors.
